History of DATA

The Dialysis and Transplant Association of Victoria Incorporated (D.A.T.A.) is a patient self help group made up of people with kidney failure and their families and friends.

Formed in 1972 as the "Home Dialysis Association" to encourage people going home with a kidney machine for the first time to talk to others with similar problems, the Association has evolved to include transplant patients and the name D.A.T.A. was adopted in 1981.

D.A.T.A. is run by a volunteer committee, which meets monthly to discuss Association business. Social days are held at regular intervals and the year culminates with the annual Christmas party.

D.A.T.A. has two holiday homes, equipped for home dialysis, available for use by members and their families.

The first home in Rosebud was purchased in 1981.  The second home in Yarrawonga was built in 1986.  Both are well located for the perfect holiday.
